Hello! So I was thinking about it for a few months now.

I did a lot of reading and I have educated myself cause I know how much stupid questions about diet and workout could annoy some of you

I don't want to be like every other beginner and I hope, that everything with my diet and workout is okay, so I can avoid wasting your time with my questions.

So, my thread title is: "I'm changing my life TODAY!", but in reality I intend to start working out from tomorrow.

However, today is a very important day for me as I made a decision about finally starting out my fitness adventure, that I hope will last forever

Truth is, that I'm really feeling bad about my body and I don't want to feel like this ever again.

I am 5'5" and I weigh 172 pounds. That's a really a lot... I feel so obese, that I actually have some minor depressions that come and go.

I feel awful with myself. I feel unattractive to men. I also want to point out, that I only had one boyfriend in my life and it was 5 years ago, when I was 17 years old.

Now I'm 23 years old and I really just want to change my life, because I feel like I can't continue to live like this anymore.

World is so big and beautiful and I want to give my life a meaning. I know that working out and getting in shape is not a remedy for all troubles in life, but at least I want to get closer to so called "happiness", which is something, that I haven't felt for a really long time. I don't want to brag to you about all of my problems, but to be honest I have nobody to talk to in real life.

So, getting back to weight loss story - I want to lose 30 pounds. I feel like this will be enough to make me feel better about myself.

I know, that I won't be skinny with just 30 pounds less, but this is the first milestone I have set for myself. Once I achieve it, I will aim for something even more challenging!

I was never skinny in my life, but I hope that I will be able to experience this feeling at least once

I will admit, that by reading some of the topics on this forum I have really gathered a lot of knowledge about workout for females and bodybuilding overall.

I want to thank you for this as generally other bodybuilding forums are focused on men's physics only.

The diet I'm going to follow equals to 2200 kcal. As for workout I chose 3x Full Body Workout with higher - the very one from this forum.

I think this is the best approach in my case. I'll be cutting my calories by 10% every two weeks and I'll add some cardio in a month from now.

I plan to lose 30 pounds in 4 months. I believe this is doable

I hope I can achieve my goals!

Thank you for reading this and wish me success!

Amazing! I love posts like this. They can motivate you for another month or even longer!

I still remember, when I've started to work out. I wasn't nearly as motivated as you and yet I have kept working out for quite some time already

You're not obese, but I understand your reason for saying that. When I was losing weight for the first time I have also persuaded myself, that I'm actually fatter than I really am.

It has helped me to maintain motivation.

I will root for you and I'm sure, that you will achieve your goal even faster than in 4 months

Good luck!

Great story! I loved reading it through I wish you all the best and I'm sure, that you will achieve your goal much quicker!

I also hope, that you won't abandon our little forum

Of course! Thanks for kind words! Actually I wrote this post, because I want to stay on this forum and as I already made such an promising introduction, I can't really fail before all of you, can I?

I understand. You most certainly cannot!

You will lose your weight pretty soon - trust me, time flies pretty fast and you will think of not being on diet as something unusual soon enough.

Lifting and healthy lifestyle may be very addictive in its own way

Great introduction! I wish you achieving your goals and just as leonaaa said, I don't believe that you are as obese and unattractive as you state that you are, but most certainly you don't feel well in your body and it's a good enough reason to change your life

Very motivating! I love reading things like this. It made me remind of my weight loss journey as well

You should expect to have a great progress from this point on! I give you just a year and you will be already well above average in both shape and attractiveness

Thing, that we women have in common is that we don't need to put that much effort to get in a pretty good shape in opposition to men.

My husband is working out for 5 years already, doing his best both at the gym and kitchen and yet, he still barely makes top 10 at a place, where he works out.

Well, it may also have to do with this, that men usually go to their limits during workout, while I rarely see any woman really doing her best

Amazing post, Elephant! Good luck on journey, that I hope will last for a long time!

I have also noticed this tendency - gyms are mostly occupied by men and if I see a woman, she isn't really training as hard as she should.

They are taking selfies, doing cardio, but not really much of an actual workout - seriously, we women are really slacking off at gym from what I have noticed

I have just started working out recently and I made my topic on this forum as well, not sure if you have seen it.

I wish you all the best on your journey and you made a good decision with posting your story here - I'm sure it will motivate you and help you in all those tough spots that you will encounter - at least, so far it did for me

I always enjoy reading a good story! I hope, that you can back up your words and that we will see you making another thread in 4 months with new goals in mind

Good luck! Not that you will need it, because I see that you have already put quite a lot of effort into figuring it all out by yourself, so I'm pretty sure that you will lose those pounds much sooner, than you expect.

I'll say though, that being skinny is not as fun as overweight people think it is, so you will want your some of your pounds back pretty fast

It's best to be neither skinny nor fat and I'm pretty sure, you will realize it soon enough.

You are not that fat and you are not that unattractive, I can ensure you about it Stop worrying about it that much and enjoy your life.

Of course keep working out and losing weight, improving yourself in other areas, but don't be depressed because of some extra pounds covering your belly - you are not nearly overweight enough to be depressed

Good luck. I look forward to hearing from you

Thank you all for kind words! I have already started and my first workout was really great. I actually felt very tired, but yet very happy

As for my other goals I have a few that aren't connected to gym I want to be a better person, gather more knowledge about the world, become more secure financially and go to the church more often.

Really, there is a lot of work that I have to do, but I'm very excited when I think about this long and hard journey

Those are really great goals, Elephant! I'm all about improving myself as well

By the way, remember to change your nickname after you lose weight as I have this feeling, that it's somehow connected to how you feel about yourself, haha.

Joke, but don't worry - you will feel like a cheetah soon enough

Haha, that's a good point cherryjuice! I actually intentionally named myself "Elephant" because this is kind of how I feel about myself

But now, that I'm thinking about it, I guess naming myself "Pig" would be more accurate as elephants despite being slow and big are at least very strong and I'm most certainly not - at least not yet!
